In the past half an hour, I was hooked on watching Instagram post about opening the beautifully wrapped gifts.
A Japanese actress posted multiple videos on her opening the gifts she received from her fans and people around her. Each gift was thoughtfully wrapped - some were decorated with beautiful Mizuhiki or ribbon ornamentations and some had pieces of paper with beautiful calligraphy writing (expressing appreciation and good wishes) attached to the packages while others had amazing presentations inside the box.
Application for the art of gift wrapping workshop tour in Japan is now open!
I have been waiting to send this email for a long time...! It took me months to finalize the contents of the workshop tour but I'm finally ready to introduce it to you!
But first, let me briefly explain how I got here if you haven't read my story of creating this tour yet.
I was inspired to meet Mr. Uda after reading a Japanese online article about him.
Mr. Uda, a certified traditional craftsman for Washi papermaking is the 4th generation of Uda Paper Mill in Shikoku-Chuo city in Ehime.
When I was little, I didn't quite understand why we celebrate Valentine's Day, but I enjoyed that the weeks leading to this special day were filled with bright colors and happy packagings.
As I grew up, I learned Valentine's Day gave us an opportunity to say "thank you" and "I love you" to the people we love. As an adult….
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, you must be thinking what gift to give and how to wrap your gift. So many creative ideas have been shared online and you might be feeling a bit overwhelmed…? Well, let’s make it easy - here is the tutorial to make perfect presentations for your Valentine’s Day gifts for her and him!
At the end of last year, I asked you "how do you want to learn from me in 2019?"
First of all, thank you so much to everyone who participated in the survey! So many of you gave me detailed answers that would be helpful to improve my future lesson programs. I'll be sure to incorporate your requests and suggestions into the lessons I'll be creating this year....and you know what? I already did!
Today is the day!
My new online course, "Gift Wrap with Love" is now officially open for enrollment!
In the past few weeks, I've been working on the ideas for this course so that you could get inspired for your Valentine's Day gift wrapping just in time!
Do you have a color theme in mind for your Valentine’s Day gifts?
As you probably know, the color theme is one of the most important aspects of designing your gift wrapping. I’m sure you carefully select the colors and patterns of your materials to create a certain ambiance for the special occasions.
My memory of Valentine's Day when I was growing up in Japan was Depachika.
Depachika is the basement floor space of the department stores and it's the food marketplace for all types of cuisine and dessert selections. During the month of February, Depachika is filled with delicious cookies, chocolates and other sweets for Valentine's Day. What made me so excited about was, of course, the bright, colorful and beautiful packagings!
Happy New Year!
I hope you’ve started the new year off with full of excitements and new plans! Thanks to you, my new year started off with a big, happy surprise with inspirational messages from you.
End of last year, I sent out the survey link asking you for a favor to tell me how you would like to learn from me in 2019. I thank you very much to everyone who took the time to take the survey and wrote me the messages.
