When I was little, I didn't quite understand why we celebrate Valentine's Day, but I enjoyed that the weeks leading to this special day were filled with bright colors and happy packagings.
As I grew up, I learned Valentine's Day gave us an opportunity to say "thank you" and "I love you" to the people we love. As an adult….
At the end of last year, I asked you "how do you want to learn from me in 2019?"
First of all, thank you so much to everyone who participated in the survey! So many of you gave me detailed answers that would be helpful to improve my future lesson programs. I'll be sure to incorporate your requests and suggestions into the lessons I'll be creating this year....and you know what? I already did!
My memory of Valentine's Day when I was growing up in Japan was Depachika.
Depachika is the basement floor space of the department stores and it's the food marketplace for all types of cuisine and dessert selections. During the month of February, Depachika is filled with delicious cookies, chocolates and other sweets for Valentine's Day. What made me so excited about was, of course, the bright, colorful and beautiful packagings!
I’m sure some of you went for X’mas shopping this past weekend for Black Friday sale. Now you have the gifts ready, you might be thinking about how to personalize them creatively.
In the past couple of weeks, I’ve been talking about how creating personalized gift wrapping helps you express your gratitude and appreciation for the recipients and build better relationships with people important in your life.
When I stepped into the store, Vansankan Pensée, PRISTINE Friend Shop, I was astonished by the beautiful displays filled with white clothing. They are all made from organic cotton. The owner Miyoko Ishihara was stylishly wearing an all-white outfit, she smiled and said "do you know why organic fluffy cotton fiber ball doesn't sink in water? It contains natural oil which helps to protect your skin from dryness, itching and other problems."
